How to Set Up an Email Autoresponder – Web Hosting Account

Email Autoresponder’s are powerful email tools that allow you to respond to emails even if you are away from your computer. They are great to setup for old email address that you don’t want to use anymore. They are also great when you go on vacation and you will not be able to check your email. You can use the steps below to setup your own Autoresponder.

You will first need to login to the control panel for your email. You can do that by following the link below. Make sure you change yourdomainhere to your company’s actual domain. Every character below is important so make sure to put the https:// and the :8443.


The will take you to a login page that looks like this

You will login with your full email address and the password for your email account. If you do not know your password please contact our office at (205)985-9942 and we will reset your password for you.

Once you are logged in your will have a menu just as below. You will want to click on the mail accounts icon.

You will then see your email account listed.

You will want to click on the icon in the fifth column that is an envelope with arrows going around it. The red arrow above points to it. Once selected this takes you to the autoresponder settings.

You will need to create your fist Autoresponder. To do this click on the Add New Autoresponder icon. From there you will fill out the following form.

You can use the same settings as the ones I have above. Change the text to match the reason for the autoresponder. Then click the Finish button.

Now your autoresponder is created and turned on as demonstrated by the green arrow next to the autoresponder that I created called Christmas. You will then need to log back in and turn off the responder when you are ready for it to stop auto responding to your messages. Just follow the same steps and click the green icon above and it will change to the stop icon. The red arrow below points to it.

You can then login at any time to create, modify and remove auto responders from your email account.
